Maternity photography

We will have a short consultation before your actual photo shoot and discuss your preferences regarding draping, nudity, angles and retouching of pictures. The best pictures will be showing some skin, but if you do not feel comfortable, it will come through in your maternity pictures.

We have a beautiful studio wardrobe that caters to all shapes and sizes, there isn’t even any need for you to go shopping for an outfit.

The star of the show is that beautiful belly of yours, of course, and will feature in most pictures. To show it off best, a shirt that buttons down and spaghetti-string tops work well, and denims – if you are still comfortable in them. I use draping and props in the sessions.

It is best to stick to plain colours if possible, and try to avoid very bright colours or bold patterns as this can be distracting in pictures.

If you have any knitted shawls, pashminas, parkas, scarves or any other interesting piece of clothing please bring those along for a unique photograph.

I always suggest doing some research of your own. Surf the Internet for maternity photographs and decide which poses you like, and the style and feel of the maternity photographs you would like. I welcome any examples of previous work of mine, even any cut-outs or sketches of maternity pictures that appeal to you just to get a sense of the type of pictures you like.
