Cake smash photography packages
Your child is turning one. You have kept a tiny human alive for 365 days, through sleep regressions, weaning and approximately 4,000 nappy changes. That deserves cake, photos, and a bubble bath at the end.
Cake smash sessions cannot be faked or forced. Either the baby dives in with both fists and gets frosting in their eyebrows, or they sit very politely and stare at the cake like it might be a trap. Both are brilliant. Both are worth photographing.
Sessions are studio-based. Family portraits happen first while everyone is clean and happy, then the cake arrives, then the bubble bath closes it out.
What’s included
Family portraits before the cake – calm, clean, everyone together (not included in the Mini package)
Cake smash session – baby does whatever they like with the cake, I document all of it
Bubble bath to close – warm, gentle, and consistently produces some of the best photos of the day
Edited digital images – delivered via private online gallery, usually within two weeks
Cake and decor are not included. Bring your own or add a simple cake and balloon setup for R650.

Packages start from R1,400 midweek. Options range from the 30-minute Mini (baby only) to The Ultimate package with a full gallery and two locations.
How it works
Book with your baby’s age and preferred timing – the sweet spot is around 11 months, so photos are ready before the birthday. I confirm availability and hold your date.
Booking fee – this secures your slot and you receive wardrobe and prep guides.
Sort the cake – bring your own or add R650 for a simple setup. Let me know at booking.
Arrive, portrait, cake, bubble bath – the whole thing is guided and low-pressure. Gallery delivered within two weeks.

Everything you need to know before your session
Cake smash photos are usually done 2 to 3 weeks before the birthday if you want the pictures ready for the big day. Alternatively, skip the birthday party and come in on the day of the birthday to have those memories forever.
Choose something comfortable that can get messy. Rompers, bloomers, little shorts, dresses or simple outfits all work. Avoid clothing that is too stiff, too precious or impossible to clean, because cake smash babies are not careful little dinner guests. You will receive a style board when you make a booking.
That happens often. Some babies love the cake. Some poke it with one finger. Some cry like the cake has personally offended them. Most babies really enjoy the bubble bath. We keep it relaxed and baby-led, and the reactions are often the best photos anyway.
Yes, siblings can be included for a few family or sibling photos before the cake smash starts. Once the cake comes out, the birthday baby is usually the main event.
Yes, if you supply the decor. I offer timeless and colour coordinated setups but I do not do themed sets or characters. We can plan something clean, pretty and not likely to make you regret the year 2026 when you look back later.
