Maternity photoshoot mistakes you don’t want to make

March 26, 2025 by Jackie

Pregnancy is beautiful—but maternity shoots can go wrong if you don’t plan ahead!

Avoid these common mistakes to get maternity photos you’ll love forever.

  1. Booking Too Late (Or Too Early!)

The best time for maternity photos is between 28 and 34 weeks—before you feel too uncomfortable but with a beautifully round belly. If you wait too long, you might feel tired and swollen. If you book too early, you might not have the bump you were hoping for.

  1. Choosing the Wrong Outfit

Many moms stress over what to wear. You don’t have to! I provide simple, flattering wardrobe options that photograph beautifully.

  1. Worrying About Posing (I’ll Guide You!)

You don’t need to know how to pose—I take care of that! I’ll guide you into flattering, natural positions that highlight your pregnancy glow.

  1. Not Including Your Partner or Kids

Should your partner or older children be in the photos? Absolutely! Including them creates more meaningful images. We’ll capture moments of connection, love, and excitement as you prepare to welcome your baby.

  1. Not Booking a Photographer Who Understands Moms

A stress-free session is everything. At adore’ photography, I keep it simple, fun, and natural—so you can enjoy the moment without worrying about the details.
